They have truly been missed!

Real Madrid has been handed a major boost in personnel following the return of Toni Kroos and Marcos Llorente. On Monday, the pair joined the first team to train for the first time after respective injuries ruled them out of action for a few run of games.

On Thursday, Real Madrid will feature against Girona in a Copa del Rey tie and the chances of the duo possibly playing a role in the cup game is sky high. A compounding injury list has seen Los Blancos struggling in a successive run of matches in recent weeks.

One such was witnessed on Saturday where Santiago Solari's side endured a tough test to see off Sevilla via a 2-0 scoreline on Saturday. In the game prior to that fixture, the Merengue's lack of quality in squad depth was exposed in the Copa del Rey defeat to Leganes.

With Kroos and Llorente returning, the Spanish heavyweights will fancy a turn in fortune while they await the return of the other stars still recuperating from injuries. At the moment, Gareth Bale and Marco Asensio are among a few star names yet to return from the treatment table.

While Toni Kroos may easily slot back into the starting eleven, Llorente will most likely have to wait for his chance with Casemiro also available to play. That withstanding, Santiago Solari is expected to field a very formidable squad despite the need to rotate as the Copa del Rey remains the only realist trophy Real Madrid can clinch this season.
