The Barcelona skipper squeezed in a brilliant finish for his side's second against their Italian opponents.

A moment of brilliance by Lionel Messi was enough to secure a first-half lead for Barcelona in Saturday night's Champions League tie with Napoli. The Blaugrana skipper produced one of the best solo-efforts in the competition thus far to hand his side a two-goal advantage.

It was business as usual for Quique Setien's men who assumed the driving seat following Clement Lenglet's controversial opener in the 10th minute. The Frenchman broke free from a tussle in Napoli's penalty area to head home the first goal of the encounter albeit appearing to have pushed his challenger to the ground.

In the 23rd minute, Lionel Messi was called upon to double Barcelona's advantage with a remarkable finish. The 33-year-old Argentine maneuvered his way through Napoli's backline and managed to squeeze in a curler before going to the ground.

In effect, Napoli became the 35th different club Messi has now scored against in the Champions League. The striker's tally is two more than any other player in the history of the competition.
