Preview: Dortmund vs PSG

Domestically, Dortmund find themselves in third spot, which is somewhat disappointing after leading the Bundesliga for the first half of the season. However, they will be hoping to chase down Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig in the battle for the Bundesliga title after acquiring young Norwegian striker Erling Braut Haaland - who burst onto the scene with his exploits during the 2019 under-20 World Cup - during the winter transfer window. Haaland, of course, has scored eight times already in this season's Champions League and will be keen on making his mark to show that he's not just a flash in the pan as Dortmund aim to go as far in the Champions League as possible.

The hosts come into this game having cruised to a 4-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Valentine's Day,  during which Haaland and current team top goal-scorer Jadon Sancho were both on the score-sheet. More important, it was the perfect comeback following their disappointing 4-3 loss to Bayer Leverkusen that prevented them from gaining ground on the top two sides in the league table.

As for their group stage campaign, die Schwarzgelben beat Inter to second spot by a comfortable margin of three points despite suffering two defeats along the way.

PSG, meanwhile, are cruising along domestically, and will certainly clinch the Ligue 1 title without much fuss. Although they did slip up this past weekend with a four-all draw with Aimens, it really will not make a dent in their standing at the top of the table. Clearly, Thomas Tuchel's side had other matter Naturally, their aim is the Champions League, where they have come up short season after season, despite the massive amounts the club's owners have spent each year.

Les Parisiens easily topped their quartet by five points to ease through as group leaders - despite many expecting serial winners Real Madrid to put up a serious challenge for top spot. The French giants will hope that this year could possibly be their year to make their mark in European club football's premier competition, but they will naturally face a lot of opposition from other sides with the same ambiitons in mind.
