The French superstar named his reasons for trying to emulate CR7's career.

Kylian Mbappé is known as one of the most talented players of his generation, but who does he look up to? Who does he want to be like when he enters his third decade on the planet? Well, the footballer shared this in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, and Cristiano Ronaldo will surely like what he will read.

The French ace compared CR7's career to Messi's, and while he acknowledged the Argentine's massive career, he admitted taking inspiration from the Portuguese superstar's run as a footballer.

"If you're Frenchm obviously you grow up with Zidane as your idol. Then, Cristiano Ronaldo became an idol for me, and I've been lucky enough to face him as a rival both with the club and with the national team," Mbappé stated.

Then, Mbappé measured up Messi and CR7 and their run in football, praising the Portuguese player for his drive and stating his desire to emulate his antics in the future.

"It's late to follow Messi's footsteps, because I would have needed to keep playing for Monaco. So, no disrespect to Messi, but from now on I will try to follow Cristiano Ronaldo's career as an inspiration," Mbappé said while explaining his decision.

"He's the player that makes you win big things. Juventus is a strong team, but they always needed an edge to win despite making it to the finals. Now they have it thanks to Cristiano," Mbappé concluded.
