Los Culés are keen on landing Lautaro Martínez as the man that will fill the Uruguayan's void, but Inter will not let him go without a fight.

Luis Suárez might be living his final seasons as a Barcelona player, and the club has made it their business to find his replacement. Unfortunately for Los Culés, the man they had identified as their center forward for years to come may not be handed on a silver plate to them by his current team, Inter Milan.

According to a report by la Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter knows that 22-year-old striker Lautaro Martínez has attracted the interest of Barcelona, Manchester United and other top-notch clubs, but they are willing to extend his contract and add a massive buyout clause to his deal in order to avoid him leaving the club this summer.

Martínez has been one of Inter's finest players this season, and his chemistry with Romelu Lukaku has been one of the reasons for the nerazzurri's fine Serie A season. His skills have also earned him a permanent spot in Argentina's lineup, where Lionel Messi has partnered up properly with him when both have played together.

That chemistry together was the main reason behind Barcelona's interest, but Inter Milan execs have already asked Martínez's agent to sit down and discuss a contract extension, which would see the Argentine extend his stay at Giuseppe Meazza Stadium until 2023.

Inter is reportedly willing to give into Martínez's wage demands (he wants to earn over $4M per season), but the Argentine must accept a $200M buyout clause in his contract. As of now, Martínez's clause would see him leave the club for a bit over $115M.

With Inter's execs interested in keeping coach Antonio Conte satisfied, their efforts will not cease in seeing Martínez extending his stay. Let's see how things unfold in the next few months, or if these developments cause Barcelona to look elsewhere for Suárez's replacement.
