The Red Devils plotted to sign the footballer this summer, but Ed Woodward dropped the subject days before the end of the transfer window in England.

Neymar could have completed another high-profile move last summer, but Manchester United stopped their pursuit at the last minute.

According to a report by the Mail, Neymar was on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's transfer list, and Ed Woodward and his team started working to see it happen. Nevertheless, Neymar ended staying at PSG because all reports handed to the team's chairman condemned the Brazilian's antics on and off the pitch.

Neymar was seen as the man that could lead Manchester United back to greatness, but all reports highlighted the player's "party animal" status.

"It is no secret that the striker enjoys a luxurious life style. He is regularly seen at several high profile events right beside stars from different circles," one of the reports stated.

Added to that, the player's activity on social media was one of the crucial factors that ended Manchester United's interest in his services.

"Neymar's Instagram feed is full of pictures where he can be seen at night clubs alongside Lewis Hamilton, Rihanna and Drake. He is also involved in advertising campaigns with former and current team-mates, such as Kylian Mbappé," the report adds.

Last, and certainly not least, the team's interest in the player ended due to his father's involvement in his career.

"Neymar's father seems to be obsessed with money," the report concluded.

The footballer, who has played five Ligue 1 games and scored four goals, will be out for a month due to a fresh injury picked up with the Brazilian National Team. Either way, some of the comments read in the report handed to Ed Woodward will certainly make some waves around his inner circle.
