The striker's rumored departure from Italy did not come to pass despite strong interest from the Premier League.

Paulo Dybala's agent Jorge Antun has revealed that the Argentine striker was never near a move away from Juventus despite reports. The 25-year-old forward was heavily linked with transfer to Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur this summer but none of the purported moves came to pass.

Claims from Italy in recent months suggested that Juve was interested in offloading the Argentine international after he failed to impress last season. A host of clubs were believed to be interested in securing the service of the striker with the English Premier League having looked like the players most likely destination at a point.

Prior to the closure of the transfer window in England, Manchester United and Tottenham were reportedly locked in a two-way battle for Dybala but none managed to make a breakthrough in its attempt to recruit the Juventus star. This came on the back of news that both clubs were unwilling to meet the player's wage demands as well as his agent's exhorbitant commission.

Currently, the striker looks poised to stay with the Bianconeri and although the international transfer window is yet to close, a move away now looks highly unlikely. Addressing the claims that dominated headlines this summer to TuttoSport, Dybala's agent Jorge Antun said: "I did speak to the English club, but the stories about the commission were not true.

"There were simply issues between the two clubs."

There could be a last minute twist to Dybala's exit saga with Juventus apparently exploring the possibility of signing PSG's Neymar Jr by using the Argentine forward as part of the deal.
