The Brazilian player was left out of the squad that lost against Athletic by Ernesto Valverde.

Eighteen months after arriving to Barcelona as the team's most expensive transfer of all time, Philippe Coutinho will leave Barcelona in the worst way possible.

According to a report by Sky Germany, the footballer is set to join Bayern München on a season-long loan. The Brazilian playmaker will reportedly make the trip to München on Sunday, with the intention to have him unveiled by his new club on Monday.

This report was confirmed by Guillermo Amor before the start of the game between Athletic and Barcelona, in a statement to RAC1.

"The club has reached an agreement to send Philippe Coutinho to Bayern on loan,"the former midfielder and Public Relations' exec told the Catalan radio station.

This move practically rules out Barcelona's intention to sign Neymar, since Philippe Coutinho was always named as one of the footballers Los Culés wanted to include in any bid to sign the wantaway PSG player.
