The Frenchman hopes to complete a switch to the Spanish club with the biggest blockade now seemingly out of the way.

Manchester United midfield star Paul Pogba is reportedly ready to complete a dream move to Real Madrid after agreeing to lower his wages demand. The 26-year-old has been increasingly linked with a move to the Spanish capital and speculations suggest that Zinedine Zidane has the Frenchman in his plans as his side aims to rebuild this summer.

Despite Manchester United finishing sixth in the Premier League, Pogba stood tall among his teammates by registering 13 goals and nine assists in the campaign. Nonetheless, his season was tainted by a series of inconsistent performances with fans heavily criticising the World Cup winner for most of United's problems. In recent times, the former Juventus star's commitment has been questioned after claiming that it will be 'a dream' to play under Zidane.

As such, many believe that it is only a matter of time until he is sold to the highest bidder and the Red Devils missing out on Champions League football does not help the cause. With Madrid reported to be Pogba's most likely destination, the midfielder's huge wages was apparently what was holding up a potential switch.

However, it seems headway has been made with MEN reporting that the 26-year-old is ready to take a pay-cut. He is currently one of the top-earners at Manchester United on 290,000-pounds-week and his current contract does not end until 2021.

Meanwhile, rumors indicate that Manchester United has identified Lyon's Ndombele Tanguy as Pogba's replacement although the Reds are not expected to make a move until the fate of the latter is decided.
