The footballer was dropped from Inter’s last two games due to an alleged injury, but there might be more than just a medical problem.

Mauro Icardi's problems to extend his contract with Inter may have taken a new turn, especially if some recent reports by the Italian media have any truth to them.

The player's agent/partner Wanda Nara has made things even more complicated for the footballer, since she has not agreed a contract extension with the nerazzurri due to some ludicrous demands. Her appearance in a TV show during the weekend did not help in her efforts to strike a new deal, as fans and Inter execs grow even more desperate as time goes by.

The latest report, issued by la Gazzetta dello Sport, suggests that Icardi has already agreed terms with the nerazzurri side. The only issue to make this deal official is that the striker wants to have the captain's armband back. Icardi was stripped from the armband prior to the team's UEFA Europa League game against Rapid Wien. Icardi made matters worse by refusing to travel with the team while adding one more absence during this past weekend's game, mentioning a knee problem as the reason for his absence.

Icardi watched Inter's win against Sampdoria from Guiseppe Meazza's stands with Nara by his side, showing barely any emotion when Inter grabbed a late win thanks to Radja Nainggolan's goal.

Icardi's contract with Inter expires with the end of the 2020-21 season, with Real Madrid, Juventus and Barcelona keeping tabs on his future. The Argentine has allegedly asked for quite a few privileges, but it seems that Inter will not grant him all of his wishes.
