The game against Atlético could force Florentino Pérez to splash cash before the end of the summer transfer window.

Real Madrid players seem to have it clear: there is no need for new signings. Their coach thinks exactly like them, but there is one problem: fans are not happy with what they saw on Wednesday's UEFA Super Cup match.

Right after the game, there were just two or three Real Madrid footballers that decided to face the media, and both of them seemed to be on the same page as their new coach.

Casemiro, who admitted earlier that the outcome of the game could have changed if Cristiano Ronaldo had been around, left the decision to bring in new players to Florentino Pérez and his crew.

"This team is not worse or better because of one game. We have to deal work with what we've got, it's up to the men in charge to decide if we need more players or not," Casemiro said.

Marcelo, who was blamed by many fans and experts for giving away Atlético's equalizer, shared the same opinion as his compatriot, but kept an open mind about possible transfers.

"It's not up to me to decide if we need more players. I believe we have a strong squad, but if the president brings in more players, they will be more than welcome," the team's second captain said.

Coach Julen Lopetegui revealed that despite appearances, this loss may not change what the club had in mind for the ongoing transfer window.

"I don't think that this result will alter our transfer policy in any way. We have a plan, and all that's left to do is to keep our chin up and think about La Liga," Lopetegui added.

But even if these three characters don't see the need to bring in new players, fans have made their presence felt on social media and have urged the team to sign players before the summer transfer window closes.

Polls from two of the most influential Spanish media outlets show that Los Blancos' supporters expect at least one more signing ahead of the 2018-19 season, which is set to begin next weekend.

"Should Real Madrid sign any players ASAP? Yes: 76% No: 24%"

Marca's poll was even more accurate, as fans were asked to vote for a specific spot on the pitch that needs a boost.

"Real Madrid needs to sign a: Defender - 14% Midfielder - 5% Striker 80%"
