Man United's poor form has unfortunately carried on past the international break, with the Premier League giants suffering their first defeat of the English top-flight season in their first game back.
The Red Devils, having lost marquee defensive signing Raphael Varane to injury over the international break, made the trip to Leicester for a tricky King Power Stadium clash. Having picked up only two wins from their last six matches across all competitions, fans were worried that the 20-time champions would drop points against Brendan Rodgers' side, and that's just what they did.
Solskjaer's side started the game well, with Mason Greenwood giving the visitors the lead after a stunning golazo. However, an error from Maguire at the back saw Tielemans pull the Foxes level. An end-to-end second half saw four goals scored, three of which were for Leicester, as strikes from Jamie Vardy, Caglar Soyuncu, and Patson Daka earned the hosts a 4-2 triumph.
Not only did this loss cost Man United the three points, but it also brought an end to their record-breaking unbeaten run on the road. The Red Devils had gone 29 Premier League away games without losing, a feat no other club managed in history, but this run has now officially been brought to a screeching halt.
Given that the Old Trafford side have now won only twice in their last seven fixtures, Solskjaer understandably came under heavy scrutiny once again. The "Ole Out" hashtag began trending on Twitter, with several fans calling for his sacking ahead of a tricky fixture schedule.
The Manchester giants are set to face Liverpool in the Premier League next before taking on Tottenham, Man City, Chelsea, and Arsenal before the end of November. On top of that, Cristiano and Co. will lock horns with Atalanta twice in the UEFA Champions League before visiting a Villarreal side that dominated them at the Theatre of Dreams.
Speaking after the final whistle, Solskjaer highlighted his side's poor defending as their downfall, with the Red Devils conceding the winning goal merely 10 seconds after Rashford had equalized. Check out his post-match reaction in the video below.
