The chances of watching both players joining the Gunners in the ongoing transfer window are seemingly impossible, judging by the team's current stance.

Arsenal is set to begin their transfer activity by adding only one of the Brazilian players that have been linked with the club in recent weeks.

The club has reportedly reached a decision regarding whether to sign Philippe Coutinho, Willian, or both footballers, and judging by agent Kia Joorabchian's words, the North London side will boost their squad by signing the former Chelsea midfielder.

According to the agent's interview on talkSPORT, the deal linking Willian to Arsenal will be revealed in the next couple of days.

"It won't be long before we announce it. We know where he is going," Joorabchian stated.

Unfortunately for Coutinho (and Barcelona, who are desperate to part ways with the player to fund other transfers), the option of watching the former Liverpool midfielder at the Emirates has faded away due to his parent team's asking price. With Willian being a cheaper option, the Gunners did not hesitate in hiring the former Chelsea footballer, while any deal for Coutinho may only take place if there is a loan deal involved.

The agent seemed to confirm this notion by refusing to comment on Coutinho's future when asked about it in the same show on talkSPORT.

Coutinho is still under contract at Bayern München, but due to his inconsistent form all season long, it seems rather unlikely to see the Brazilian playing for the Bavarians next season. The player's heart is reportedly being linked to a return to the Premier League, but options don't seem to be opening up for the footballer after leaving Liverpool in 2018.
