The Chelsea ace responded to recent remarks made by the Blancos ace.

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has commented on recent remarks made by Karim Benzema when comparing the two. The Real Madrid ace likened the former Arsenal man to go-karting, a claim which garnered an expected jibe from Giroud.

Benzema made this statement in response to comparisons being made between his record for the French national team and that of Giroud. The 32-year-old Spanish Primera Division star was not having any of this, likened his fellow country to a go-kart and himself to Formula 1 to depict what he sees as a gulf in talent.

As expected, Giroud responded to Benzema’s claim when speaking to Befoot. The 33-year-old Premier League striker threw a jibe at the exiled forward, taunting the former Lyon man over his lack of success with the national team.

"People say you cannot compare a Formula One car with a go kart and the only thing I can say on the matter is that I'm a world champion, so that isn't bad for a go kart,” the 2018 World Cup champion said, as per the Sun.

Despite being outshone by Mbappe and Griezmann, Giroud spearheaded Deschamps’ attack in Russia 2018 en route to lifting the title. Benzema, on the other hand, remains banned from the national team after being accused of blackmailing Valbuena with a sextape.
