The German club has slapped a hefty transfer fee on the England international and will not entertain any adjustments after the ongoing pandemic.

Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund have slapped a $120 million (€110million/£97 million) price-tag on forward Jadon Sancho, a new report has revealed. The 20-year-old winger has been tipped for a transfer this summer and Die BVB is looking to land a lucrative deal which would not require them to adjust his fee when the coronavirus crisis is over.

Multiple reports that have emerged from Germany in recent times have stated that Dortmund has already made peace with the fact that Sancho will be departing from the club this summer. Due to his rapid rise to stardom, the player has been linked with moves to a host of top clubs including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester United. However, amid the numerous interests, the Red Devils have been touted as the player's obvious choice.

According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side has moved a step further in their pursuit by opening talks with the representatives of Jadon Sancho. The club is, however, yet to engage Borussia Dortmund with an official bid and the German outfit is said to be holding out for a fee not less than $120 million (€110million/£97 million). Per the report by Romano, the club will maintain a strict stance and will not make any compromises to alter the fee despite clubs taking financial hits as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

United's Premier League rivals Chelsea are also believed to be keen on Sancho's recruitment and may make an attempt to bring him to London in the summer. That withstanding, Rio Ferdinand - a former defender for the Red Devils - has advised his old club to do whatever it takes to secure the service of the Dortmund wonder-kid. In an Instagram Q&A session, he stated that his compatriot is worthy of the iconic No.7 shirt worn by the likes of David Beckham, Eric Cantona and Cristiano Ronaldo.

"I want Jadon to go to a team where he will play, improve and get trophies," he said.

"He's been linked with United, Chelsea, PSG but I think United is the place for him to go because I'm biased."

Sancho remains third on the Bundesliga goalscorers' leaderboard with 14 goals in 23 appearances this season. The former Manchester City academy star has registered 15 assists in the process.
