Mbappé cuts all Real Madrid links shortly after winning the 2018-19 Ligue 1 title

Real Madrid should look elsewhere -for now- when trying to lure a superstar to the Bernabeu, as Kylian Mbappé has ended all their hopes of signing him this summer.

The possibility of having the French superstar working under Zinedine Zidane was thought to be real, since the player had praised the 1998 World Cup winner's work with Los Blancos. Unfortunately for the Spanish giants, Zidane's presence will not be enough to see the rising star at the Bernabeu in the near future, since he has pledged his loyalty to PSG for the moment.

Speaking right after Les Parisiens' 3-0 win against Monaco, which secured the league title for the French capital giants, Mbappé ended all speculation about his future with a short but firm statement.

"I'm stayin at PSG. I joined this project and I believe it was the right thing to do," Mbappé said.

The striker seemed to show no interest in working with Zidane for the moment, as he admitted he will keep an eye on their games without getting involved.

"I am happy to see Zidane back at Real Madrid, I will be watching their games as a fan," Mbappé added.

These words put to rest a theory published by France Football, where the French publication stated that Los Blancos were ready to pay over $310M for the player's services. Mbappé is still under contract with PSG until the end of the 2021-22 season, and it seems that only a miracle could see him joining the Spanish giants in the near future.
