La Roja's skipper secured three vital points with his match-winning penalty kick against Norway on Saturday.

Spain's hopes of starting the EURO 2020 qualifiers on a high note took shape after Sergio Ramos got on the scoresheet to secure all the points for the hosts in Saturday's clash with Norway. The captain of the side struck another audacious Panenka penalty inside the Mestalla Stadium to fire his side to a 2-1 victory.

Following a dorminating first half display, La Furia Roja opened the scoring the 16th minute via Rodrigo Moreno. However, a Joshua King penalty tied the Group F fixture in the 65th minute after substitute Bjorn Johnsen was brought down in the host's 18-yard-box by Inigo Martinez.

Six minutes later, Sergio Ramos stepped up and calmly netted a Panenka spot kick following a tackle on Alvaro Morata by the Norwegian goalkeeper Rune Jarstein in the penalty area. Watch the goal here:

The Real Madrid center back who seems to have perfected the trick over time took his tally for the Spanish national team to five in his last five appearances. Interestingly, he now ranks 12th in Spain's list of all-time top scorers with a total tally of 18 goals.

The goal was also Sergio Ramos' 15th for club and country this season. On Tuesday, the 32-year-old will lead the 2010 World Cup winners to Malta for their second EURO 2020 outing.
