Current form: Atalanta vs Milan
Atalanta have seemingly come out of nowhere as they have now forced their way into a battle for fourth spot. It was not too long ago that La Dea were languishing in the bottom part of the table after a bad start to the season, but now, Gian Piero Gasperini's side have roared to life as they have raced up the table, and only Juventus have picked up more points than his team over the past eight league fixtures. That's how impressive the side from Bergamo have been over the past two months. Notably, they pulled off one of the biggest upsets in the Coppa Italia, beating La Vecchia Signora 3-0 to deny Juve the chance to possibly win a Treble this season and now La Dea have put themselves in contention for possibly winning a piece of silverware this season.
Led by the impressive form of Duvan Zapata, who sits third in the race for the Capocannoniere, Atalanta have netted 50 goals so far this term, and will be looking to continue that strong run when Milan come to town. The Rossoneri, however, have been in great form as of late, and have been inspired thanks to the addition of Krzysztof Piatek, who continues to shine since making a January move from Genoa. Piatek, with 15 goals, is fourth in the scoring charts, and has netted four times in his last three matches, including a brace to knock Napoli out of the Coppa Italia and like Zapata, will be the go-to man for his side as Milan aim to hang on to their top four spot in the table.
Milan are also in contention for silverware this season, and as they were knocked out early of the Europa League - like Atalanta - the Coppa Italia presents the only chance of winning a trophy. The Rossoneri certainly will not want La Dea to push them out of a Champions League berth, but Atalanta have picked up steam lately and as they are playing at home - where they notably beat Juventus 3-0 recently - they certainly will be fancying their chances at causing another big side some major problems on Saturday evening.
