The Paris Saint-Germain superstar has been linked with a move back to his former club and reports suggest that an agreement is already in place.

Lionel Messi's camp have quell rumors that he is ready to ditch Paris Saint-Germain for Barcelona when is current contract expires. Latest reports have indicated that the Argentine superstar already has an agreement in place to return to his former club but his entourage insist that no decision has been made yet.

Messi joined Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2021 after La Liga's financial restrictions barred the Catalans from registering him. The Argentine endured turbulent times in his first season but has since come good for the Ligue 1 outfit, scoring goals and providing assists on a regular basis. Despite finally settling in at the club, reports have indicated that a return to Barca is on the cards. The player still has a year left on his current contract and has an offer to extend his stay in Paris is apparently being prepared by the Ligue 1 champions.

However, a new report has emerged on Monday suggests that Messi could be on the move once more. According to Argentine reporter Veronica Brunati, the player will not renew his contract at paris Saint-Germain as he is set to return to Barcelona on July 1, 2023. The news comes on the back of claims that the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner has 'made peace' and reconciled with Barcelona president Joan Laporta - who was a key figure in the controversy two years ago.

Amid the speculations, Messi's camp has come out to set the record straight. Accordint to Italian journalist and transfer news guru Fabrizio Romano, the player is yet to make a decision on his future and has not reached an agreement with either Barcelona or Paris Saint-Germain. Instead, he is keen on finishing the season in France before deciding his future in 2023.
