Saudi Arabia Under-23s take on Brazil Under-23s at the Saitama Stadium 2002 in the last group stage fixtures at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Preview

Saudi Arabia will lock horns with Brazil at the Saitama Stadium in the final round of group stage fixtures at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The current Asian Cup holders will look to bow out on a high despite the fact that they will need to climb a tall mountain to make that a possibility. Saad Al Shehri's men have been so close and yet so far to qualifying, having picked up no point in the two games they have featured in so far despite the couple of impressive performances they managed to string together.

In their opening game against the Ivory Coast, a stunner by Frank Kessie scupper their chances of taking away anything as they eventually fell to a 2-1 defeat inside the Nissan Stadium. The meeting against Germany was also another that took an unfortunate turn and resulted in the 3-2 win for Die Mannshaft who had a man sent off in the course of proceedings.

With. no point to their name and.a two-goal deficit, there is no hope of qualification of the Saudis. So far, they have not been able to surpass their previous best at an Olympics, when they were kicked-out at the group stages in 1996.

For Brazil, the mission is to secure at least a draw with both Ivory Coast and Germany breathing down their necks in the pursuit for a place in the next round of the tournament. The Selecao sit atop Group D with four points from their two games they have featured in thus far.

They began the campaign with a 4-2 win over Germany with saw Everton's Richarlison hit a hat-trick and followed with a 0-0 scoreline against the Ivory Coast in the subsequent outing. Having won the gold medal at the last edition of the Olympics, they are well equipped to repeat the feat and avoiding a defeat at all cost should do them a lot of good going into the knockout phase.

Team news

Saudi Arabia will be without Aboubacar Doumbia as he was shown a straight red card in the opening game against Ivory Coast. Aside him, the team should fully-fit players at its disposal for the clash.

Brazil on the other hand will also test the waters in the absence of the suspended Douglas Luiz. The Aston Villa man was sent off in the 0-0 draw with Ivory Coast.
