The Reds will host the Blues, who remain unbeaten under Tuchel, on Thursday with the aim of leapfrogging fourth-placed West Ham.

Liverpool are gearing up for a crucial Premier League showdown, with the Reds set to host Chelsea on Thursday in a fixture that could go a long way in deciding the top-four race. Fortunately for the English top-flight title holders, they have receives a huge boost for that midweek box-office fixture.

The Merseyside giants, who have endured an injury crisis this season, expect to welcome back to key players in time for this fixture. They are Alisson and Fabinho, with Jurgen Klopp confirming via the club's official website that they should be available for selection.

The Brazilian goalkeeper was absent from the recent win over Sheffield, but this was not due to injury. Having lost his father due to a tragic swimming accident, the former Roma shot-stopper was given compassionate leave.

"Ali trained now the full week and, yes, we should expect that he is able to return," Klopp revealed ahead of the game.

As for Fabinho, the influential midfielder last featured for Liverpool in the 4-1 home defeat against Man City, missing the subsequent four fixtures due to a muscle injury. While the former Monaco man might not start, he is all but destined to feature, having enjoyed five to six training sessions.

"Fab has now five or six sessions in his legs and we have to make a decision how we deal with that, but he looks good and is ready for the squad for sure," Jurgen added.

And it doesn't stop there. The German boss also revealed that Diogo Jota, the summer addition who made an explosive start to life at Anfield, could make his long-awaited return. However, unlike the previous two, the Portuguese talent is a doubt after catching a "little stomach problem".

"Diogo had this little stomach problem and he trained yesterday only a little bit; he was only out there for the warming-up and the rondos and then had a little run," Klopp continued.

"I got the message this morning that he feels better again, so we will see what we can do with that.

"As I said, before he looked exceptionally well, but unfortunately he got ill overnight, so now we have to see how big the steps are he can make towards the team again."

Victory is crucial for the home side as they aim to return to the top four after dropping down to sixth after a four-game winless run in February. Given that fourth-placed West Ham won't be in action until the weekend, Salah and Co. could temporarily leapfrog the Hammers should they beat Chelsea. As for the Blues, they too aspire to qualify for the UEFA Champions League and sit a mere point behind David Moyes' overachieving side.
