Preview: Bayer Leverkusen vs Bayern Munich

Having already beaten Bayern Munich earlier this season at the Allianz Arena, Bayer Leverkusen will be looking to become the first team to defeat die Roten in the Bundesliga in 2020 when they welcome the current league leaders and reiging Bundesliga champions on Saturday. Of course, that will be much easier said than done. The Bavarian titans have been in imperious form since the league restarted a few weeks ago and enjoy a whopping seven point lead over the chasing pack.

The hosts come into this game having secured a narrow 1-0 win over Freiburg and what really will concern them is the availability of star man Kai Havertz. The 20 year old has netted six times in his last four matches and nine in the second half of the campaign. However, he suffered an injury during the team's recent win that saw him have to leave the pitch; fortunately for Peter Bosz's side he seems to have shaken that off just in time for this crunch clash.

Bayern, for their part are cruising along comfortably after winning all four of their games since the Bundesliga resumed action but will be hoping to avoid losing again to Leverkusen as they have never lost both home and away in one season to their upcoming hosts in their club history.

Meanwhile, Bayern star striker Robert Lewandowski is not just chasing his fifth Torjägerkanone but also is aiming to break the nearly 50-year record currently held by Gerd Muller - most goals scored in a single Bundesliga season. So far, the Polish ace has scored 29 goals, meaning that he needs 11 to tie Muller's record. With five matchdays left to go, he will need to score at least two goals per game to achieve that effort, but with him being in form that he is in, one shouldn't bet against it, either. That being said, Leverkusen is one team that he has tended to struggle against, with just five goals from 17 meetings with the club
