Should Tuchel be sacked, the French champions will have their eyes on the Spanish tactician.

Manchester City suffered another setback in their Premier League title defense on Saturday, this time being held to a 2-2 draw at home to Crystal Palace. As a result, it was not surprising to see speculation surrounding the manager’s future resurface.

This time, however, the Spaniard is being linked with a surprise club. According to the Express, the latest club interested in the highly-successful tactician is PSG.

After the 2-2 draw with Palace, Pep was asked about his future. The 49-year-old confirmed he will be at the Etihad Stadium next season, bar a sacking. Despite this, the Express claims the Ligue 1 champions will test the water with a huge offer.

Should Thomas Tuchel leave the Parc des Princes, Guardiola would be PSG’s preferred successor. Next season will see Pep enter the final year of his Man City contract and given that the serial winner never stays at one club for too long, there is an argument for PSG’s case.

However, one should take this claim by the Express with a pinch of salt due to several reasons, number one being the fact that Guardiola has refuted the exit rumors time and time again. Furthermore, Les Parisiens might not be able to back the Spaniard with money to implement his style of football due to FFP.

Nonetheless, given that the Citizens are all but out of the Premier League race – they are 13 points behind at the time of writing and have played two extra games – expect these rumors to remain.
