The war of words between Lionel Messi and Brazil's coach Adennor Bacchi "Tite" keeps making headlines, and even if Messi told the boss to shut up, the Brazilian tactician had quite a few words to describe Messi and his ways inside the pitch.
Speaking in the press conference ahead of Brazil's final match of the year against South Korea, Tite looked back at what happened between himself and the Argentine ace, when the Barcelona footballer shut him up with a gesture. Earlier today, Tite replied a question about how some consider Messi as the best player of all time, which made the boss compare "La Pulga" to Pelé.
"Messi better than Pelé? Pelé can't be compared. Anyone that wants to compare Pelé to another athlete knows nothing. Messi is extraordinary, but among humans. Pelé is above all humans, he tops all normal parameters," Tite said.
The Brazilian coach denied that his opinion had to do with the recent incident between them or that it was related to his nationality.
"I'm not saying this because we're Brazilian, I'm saying it because I saw history being made. The magnitude of Pelé's accomplishments, his moves, his technique, his headers, his use of both feet, his strength, his drive. If any journo wants to find a flaw in his game, he will not find one," Tite added.
The final statement on Tite's comparison saw him slam Messi for his lack of humility, which compared to Pelé leaves him way behind in the "race" to be considered the best of all time.
"If that is not enough for you, Pelé was extraordinarily charismatic. What happened the other day with Messi is out there for you to judge. I just demanded a yellow card and he told me to shut up, so..." Tite concluded.
Brazil will try to put an end to a woeful streak that started as soon as they won the 2019 Copa América when they face South Korea this Tuesday. A Canarinha is without a win in their last five games, with three draws and two losses after the tournament that was played in their country.
