Barcelona may have won their clash against Slavia Prague to top their UEFA Champions League group, but the way they managed to do so was not as satisfying as you might think.
Players such as Lionel Messi, Arturo Vidal, Luis Súarez and Sergio Busquets refused to talk to the media after the game, with coach Ernesto Valverde and goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen being the only ones to share their views on the game.
The latter's perspective on the outcome of the clash will leave some Blaugrana fans wondering if there's something going on inside the team's locker room, as the German shot-stopper did not hold back when discussing how the team performed in their visit to Prague.
The goalkeeper kicked off his appearance in front of the media with an honest insight on the game, and how their lack of concentration saw them concede against the Czech side.
"This can't happen to us. We have some things to improve, such as our concentration. We did not return to the game -after the break- fully concentrated. That sort of thing happens, but we can't have that," Ter Stegen said.
The shot-stopper was praised by some key interventions during the game, especially in the first half.
Then, Manuel Neuer's backup with Germany aimed a dig at some of his team-mates, who he believes were not giving it all on the pitch.
"It's something we need to do, but I'm not going to say it out loud. It would be nice to have a word with those that are running around on the pitch," Ter Stegen added.
The former Borussia Mönchengladbach man kept on stating the need to discuss what went wrong, mainly because the team could have left crucial points behind in what should have been an easy outing.
"We did not show our best form. Fortunately we were able to win all the points, which is obviously the main thing, but we need to get some things off our chests," the goalie concluded.
Barcelona won thanks to an early goal by Messi and an own goal scored by Nigerian footballer Peter Olayinka. As of now, Barcelona are the best team in Group F, but a shaky performance as the one they put up today could be quite costly for the Catalan side.
