Barcelona handed fresh injury blow ahead of UCL clash vs Slavia Prague

Barcelona can't seem to get a break when it comes to injuries, as they will have to prepare their trip to face Slavia Prague in the UEFA Champions League without two players. Nevertheless, they found out about one of those absences in the past few hours.

Just when Ernesto Valverde thought he could start all of his best men against Slavia, midfielder Sergi Roberto picked up an injury to his left knee in the team's win against Eibar. Unfortunately for the Spaniard, he will have to deal with one more absence, as Samuel Umtiti has been ruled out of the UCL clash due to a knee injury.

Umtiti has experienced chronic problems to his left knee since last summer, and this new setback has forced Barcelona's medical staff to urge Valverde not to use him against the Czech side.

Umtiti's absence forced Ernesto Valverde to include Moussa Wagué, who will fill the Frenchman's void.

Barcelona is currently second in Group F of the UEFA Champions League, trailing Borussia Dortmund due to the German's better goal difference. Slavia is third, having won only one point in their trip to Giuseppe Meazza Stadium on Matchday 1.
