The Egyptian star missed their recent 1-1 Premier League draw with Man United.

Liverpool’s winning streak in England came to an end over the weekend and one reason blamed for that is the absence of Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian superstar missed his team’s recent clash with Man United in the league, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

The former Roma ace was not available for the Reds in their trip to Old Trafford, being ruled out of the game due to an ankle injury he picked up prior to the international break. The hope was that he would overcome the knock in time but things did not go according to plan.

The focus is now on whether he will be available for their upcoming European game. The Premier League leaders are set to face Genk on Wednesday, with many wondering whether Salah will be fit for that tie.

The Merseyside giants have been coy but the 27-year-old has handed the Champions League holders a huge boost, returning to training before their clash with the Belgian side. The Ballon d’Or candidate has thus been included in Wednesday’s squad but whether he will start or not is another issue.

This great news has been accompanied by two disappointing ones, as both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joel Matip have missed out on the trip to Belgium. Klopp’s men currently boast a win and a loss from their opening two games and will be keen on avoiding another horrendous defensive display similar to their 4-3 win over Salzburg.
