What is the form of Sporting CP compared to Sporting Braga?

Unlike Sporting Braga, Sporting CP began their 2019/20 Primeira Liga season with a defeat. This means the Lisbon giants remain without a win in their last seven games, losing four and drawing three games since the end of last season.

Braga, on the other hand, are in good form. They beat Moreirense 3-1 in their opening game before defeating Brøndby by an identical scoreline in their Europa League playoff. This means they are unbeaten in their last five games (W3, D2) and have lost only once in their last 12 games in all competitions.

Preview

Sporting CP might be one of the biggest clubs in Portugal, but their preseason has fans worried. The Lions are yet to win a single game since last season, either winning or drawing and begun the current campaign with a single point.

A lot of this was pinned on Bruno Fernandes' transfer saga. The midfielder was tipped to be headed for England, with Man United and Tottenham showing heavy interest in the Portuguese ace. However, the move did not go through and he ended up remaining.

To make things worse, Bas Dost is constantly being linked with a transfer, with coach Marcel Keizer admitting that they could lose their talisman forward. History favors the hosts, but form sadly doesn't.

As for Brage, they will be looking to put their poor form against the top three to rest. Last season, they lost five out of six, including all the away games. However, if there was ever a perfect time for them to make a statement, it is now.
