Familiar foes Juventus and Spurs will lock horns in the 2019 International Champions Cup on Sunday, July 21st. Live Soccer TV's match preview provides info to catch this much-anticipated game.

Preview: Juventus vs Spurs

Both Juventus and Tottenham will finally return to action after a long hiatus, and this will be both teams' first games after losing their last games last season. For Juventus, they ended their title winning campaign on a rather disappointing note as they slipped to a surprise defeat to lowly Sassuolo on matchday 38, while Tottenham were beaten 2-0 by fellow Premier League giants Liverpool in an all-English Champions League final on June 1st in Madrid.

New coach Maurizio Sarri will be definitely using the International Champions Cup to test out his squad ahead of the upcoming season. Juventus have been quite active in the summer transfer market, and if rumors are to be believed, aren't done signing players just yet. So far, they've acquired young Dutch defender Matthjis De Ligt as well as veteran shot-stopper Gianluigi Buffon, as well as experienced midfielder Aaron Ramsey as the most notable additions. Others who will now don the famed bianconeri kit include Adrien Rabiot, Cristian Romero, Luca Pellegrini, and Merih Demiral, and Paul Pogba still continues to be linked with a return despite his high purchase price.

Meanwhile, Tottenham will be busy this summer as they aim to get up and running ahead of what will be a busy campaign for Spurs. Next up on the menu after this Juventus tie is a mouth-watering tussle with Manchester United, followed by clashes with Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Turkish outfit Fenerbache, and then Inter Milan.

Having finished last season sans a trophy, despite finishing in the top four, Tottenham will be looking to improve. Like Juventus, who will bitterly disappointed although they won an eighth straight Scudetto, but failed to win the Coppa Italia or the Champions League, Mauricio Pochettino's men will be also feeling quite disappointed at how they let the Champions League slip from their grasp with their subdued performance against Liverpool in last season's final.

To that end, they will be looking to get off the bat in their first major challenge as they take on the champions of Italy this weekend. It might be just a friendly, but both sides are certainly to take this tie quite seriously as they will probably use it as a litmus test as to where they are at the early stages of the 2019/2020 season.

Team news: Juventus vs Spurs

Juventus: Giorgio Chiellini has been left out of the squad due to a calf problem. New signing De Ligt has been included, although Ramsey has been left behind to continue his fitness preparations ahead of the upcoming season.

However, several key players, including Paulo Dybala, Juan Cuadrado, Moise Kean, and and Alex Sandro have all been excluded, leaving some to wonder if they could be on the selling list ahead of the upcoming campaign. Yet, despite his underwhelming season at Chelsea, Gonzalo Higuain still made the cut, and this could be his final chance to impress Sarri, with whom he also worked with at Napoli before Juve's full season gets underway in August.

Tottenham: Record signing Tanguy Ndombele will certainly be expected to feature here. Meanwhile, Serge Aurier, Victor Wanyama, and Davinson Sanchez are all out of the squad due to their participation in the AFCON (with the Ivory Coast and Kenya for the first two) and other international tournaments. English international Danny Rose is another who has not made the trip as he has been rumored to be on his way out before the summer transfer window closes.

Meanwhile, both Eric Dier and Ben Davies are on the treatment table and are still continuing their recoveries from their respective injuries.
