If true, this offer might not go down well with the Giallorossi fans.

After a disappointing loan spell with Chelsea, Gonzalo Higuain finds himself back at Juventus and unwanted by his employers. As a result, his future remains up in the air.

However, the latest reports claim one of the Bianconeri's Serie A rivals are eyeing a move for the Argentine. They are none other than Roma.

According to Corriere Dello Sport (as per Football Italia), the Giallorossi are eager to lure the 31-year-old to the Italian capital and will attempt to sign him by any means. This is where the controversy arises.

It is being said that Roma are even willing to offer him the captaincy to bring him to Stadio Olimpico. The fact that they are targetting a player from Juventus hasn't sat well with many fans, but handing him the skipper's armband will cause outrage among the Giallorossi faithful.

The reason is that the Roma captaincy has gone to homegrown Roman players for the past decades, with Giuseppe Giannini, Francesco Totti, Daniele De Rossi and currently Alessandro Florenzi all wearing the armband for the Italian giants.

Given that the legendary Totti recently accused the club of trying to get rid of Romans makes this report all the more incriminating. However, it remains to be seen whether Higuain would even agree to join his club's rival as he is not open to joining another Italian team.
