The French teenager was stretchered down the tunnel in the 2-1 Lyon defeat after being wiped out by the opposing goalkeeper.

On Sunday, PSG and Lyon locked horns in an intense Ligue 1 encounter. Unai Emery entered the game as league leader but Les Parisiens sadly lost their unbeaten run in the French top-flight on that night.

A stoppage-time winner from Memphis Depay earned the home side a vital 2-1 victory, but the defeat was not the only worrying thing for the Paris side. They lost young attacker Kylian Mbappe to injury early on after suffering a nasty collision with the opposing goalkeeper.

The teenager was rushing to meet a pass from Marco Verratti before being wiped out by Diego Lopes in the penalty box. Anthony Lopes got a touch on the ball to avert the danger, but the shot-stopper could not stop himself from colliding with the French attacker.

The 19-year-old eventually left the pitch on a stretcher, being substituted by Julian Draxler, but PSG quickly expelled fears of a possible serious injury. Club doctor Eric Rolland gave an update about the player after the final whistle, telling Canal+ (as per Goal): "There is nothing serious.”

Mbappe later took to Twitter to inform everyone that he is fine. He even added that he holds no grudge against Lopes despite their nasty collision.

Mbappe on Twitter: "Just a note to let you know that I am doing good. More frightened than in pain despite this dramatic clash. No grudge, A. Lopes. And thank you, everyone, for your messages."

Although Mbappe isn’t guaranteed to be available in their next match, Emery’s side dodged a bullet. The same can’t be said for Dani Alves, however, who was sent off in the 2-1 defeat.

The Brazilian full-back was sent off after squaring off with the referee for a foul given against the defender. While Emery did not go as far as to say Alves’ red card was unwarranted, the manager did blame that incident for their defeat.
