The French Ligue 1 has a new home in Portugal!
Global sports broadcaster Eleven Sports has acquired the rights to air games from the French Ligue 1 in Portugal. The news comes after the network announced its acquisition of UEFA Champions League and La Liga coverage rights just a month ago.
Starting from next season up until 2020, Eleven Sports will be able to broadcast games from the Ligue 1 as well as the Coupe de la Ligue knockout tournament to its Portuguese audience. The annual cup game played between winners of the Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France – the Trophee des Champions – will also be shown live by the sports provider.
