His injury isn't as bad as initially feared.

On Sunday, Arsenal earned a 4-1win against West Ham, but that game was far from enjoyable for Mohamed Elneny. The Egyptian ace suffered a nasty-looking injury which left many Gooners worried.

The midfielder collided with Mark Noble and presumably hurt his ankle along the way. The former Basel ace was in considerable pain, with many fearing his season had come to an end.

He had to be stretchered off the pitch with Wenger later admitting that the injury “doesn’t look too good”. However, reports have now emerged that the knock is not as bad as initially expected.

It is a mix of both good news and bad. As written by the Sun, Elneny will miss only three weeks of action. While this means the Gunners will be without their midfield enforcer for their home clash with Atletico Madrid, the player’s will spend significantly lesser time on the sidelines.

The British tabloid cites Egypt's assistant manager Mahmoud Fayez as their source. According to the Pharaohs right-hand man, the midfielder should be back in three weeks time.

This is excellent news for the national side as it appeared that Elneny could miss the World Cup due to his injury. Fayez has now reportedly dismissed those fears.

Additionally, while he might not be available for the semi-final Europa League clash with Simeone’s men, he could return for the final if the north London side qualifies. Furthermore, he should be around for Wenger’s Premier League send-off.
