Friction has emerged between the two South American stars after the 2-0 win over Lyon.

Are the cracks already starting to emerge at PSG? Only six games have gone by and PSG sit on top of the table with a 100 percent record, but there appears to be friction between Neymar and Cavani.

The two South American superstars butt heads during the 2-0 win over Lyon over the weekend. With the game 1-0 and the leaders awarded a penalty, both wanted to take the spot-kick.

Neymar desired to make the score sheet, but unlike Messi used to do at Barca, Cavani was not willing to give up the penalty to his team-mate. This led to an unwanted altercation between the PSG players.

A similar incident occurred, this time over a free-kick. The Uruguayan had blasted a previous attempt over the crossbar, but was – again – not willing to let the Brazilian give the next free-kick a go. Dani Alves stepped in, refusing to give the ball to Cavani so his countryman and friend could take the set-piece.

The former Napoli forward later stormed off after a disagreement on set-pieces. Now, several reports claim Neymar has unfollowed the striker on Instagram.

Unai Emery must make peace between the two superstars. Neymar is the world’s most expensive player and the future of the Ligue 1 giants, but Cavani’s goals are priceless. Both are indispensable.
