Man United boss Jose Mourinho is slowly feeling the heat after snubbing Henrikh Mkhitaryan, again!

If you are a regular Twitter user, you must have noticed the #FreeMkhitaryan hashtag trending on Wednesday night just moments after Manchester United announced their official lineup to face rivals Man City in the Football League Cup. Mkhitaryan is not a civil rights activist who needs to be freed or an innocent civilian held hostage – he is one of the most famous Armenian footballers in the world, and an established number 10.

If you followed the Bundesliga last season, Micki, as is he fondly referred to by his swarm of fans, was the architect behind Dortmund’s impressive form that tore their opponents apart at will. But now, the creative midfielder who also plays as a winger, is struggling to find game time at his new club – Manchester United.

And to the surprise of many Man Utd fans, the soft spoken play-maker was left out of the club’s squad to play Man City for the umpteenth time despite being fit and readily available for selection. Critics have started blaming Man Utd boss Mourinho for blatantly snubbing the player who scored 23 goals and provided 20 assists in 51 appearances for the Yellow and Blacks last season.

Will Jose Mourinho bow to pressure and finally decide to field the fan-favorite star to add some spark to the club’s attack? Only time will tell but one thing for sure is the fact that there is a silent revolution and division brewing among the club’s fans. Check out some of the trending tweets below:
