A new striker expected at the Emirates?

Olivier Giroud remains the only reliable senior striker available to Arsenal for the beginning of the upcoming season, with Walcott and Campbell as back-up options. Danny Welbeck’s long-term injury means the Englishman won’t be back anytime soon.

However, Wenger hinted that he could sign a new striker before the summer transfer window shuts close. Speaking to the media, he said (as per Sky Sports):

“At the moment I have not too many attacking options in terms of experienced players."

He added: "So we have options but we will still look outside to find one more."

Having missed out on Higuain, Alexandre Lacazette has been tipped as Arsenal’s top target, though a recent report suggested that the Gunners’ next signing will be Riyad Mahrez of Leicester City.
