The major of Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque, also announced that the town's airport will be named after the Portuguese star from this day forward.

Cristiano Ronaldo keeps enjoying his time away from the pitch, despite the fact that he will have to stay on the sidelines for a while.

Speaking in a press conference, the Portuguese ace admitted he will return to Real Madrid's training sessions on August 10, one day after the UEFA Super Cup takes place in the Norwegian city of Trondheim.

Furthermore, Real Madrid's striker admitted this year has been one to remember, but he can't think that he has already bagged important individual trophies, such as the Ballon D'Or.

"I must admit that this year has been the best of my career. Having won the UEFA Champions League and the Euro was really something. I'm not obsessed by it (winning the Ballon D'Or), but I know I'm in a good position to win it," CR7 stated.

The Portuguese striker is currently enjoying some time off in his native town of Madeira, where had a couple of social activities.

First off, he hosted the opening of his first hotel, "Pestana CR7." The five-star complex boasts hi-tech gadgets in all of its rooms, such as an Apple TV device in every one of them. Cristiano Ronaldo's plans of expansion include New York City, Madrid and Lisbon.

CR7 had some input when it came to design the hotel's swimming pool, gym and even a fitness plan for all guests to follow.

Before he left the island, Madeira's Major Miguel Albuquerque announced that the city's airport will be known from now on as "Cristiano Ronaldo Airport". Deeply moved, Cristiano Ronaldo shared his happiness with those in attendance.

"It wasn't easy to get here. I want to thank everyone who made it here, especially my supportive family. It's a very special day for me, I can't thank you enough for all these tokens of appreciation," the player concluded.
