The Brazilian ace finally put to rest rumors of a Camp Nou exit by signing a contract extension with the Blaugrana

Barcelona fans can finally rest assured over the future of superstar attacker Neymar after months and months of exit rumors, as the reigning Spanish Primera Division champions announced that the Brazilian ace has signed a contract extension with the Blaugrana.

The Selecao sensation had long been linked with the likes of French champions PSG, Spanish rivals Real Madrid, and English giants Manchester United, as ongoing contract negotiations had many wondering whether this summer would see the deadly MSN trio breakup.

However, the 24-year-old has now committed his long-term future to the Catalan heavyweights, signing a new deal which will keep him at Camp Nou for another five years, until 2021.

Barca announced this news via their official website, whilst also revealing a new update to the former Santos man’s release clause. For the first year of his new contract, Neymar’s buyout clause is set at 200 million Euros. For the second year, 222 million Euros is required to pry the Brazilian from Luis Enrique’s side, with the fee rising to 250 million Euros for the last three years of his new deal.

Having spent three seasons at Camp Nou so far, his new deal will give Neymar the chance to add to his tally of 85 goals and eight trophies in 141 appearances for Barca. His new deal will officially be presented on July 15 before the player reports for the national side for the Olympics in Rio.
