The Spanish attacker will join Pep Guardiola at the Etihad on a four-year deal.

English Premier League giants Manchester City have swiftly moved to wrap up their second signing of the 2016 summer transfer window, completing a deal for Nolito after weeks and weeks of speculation. The Spanish striker, who took part in UEFA Euro 2016 with La Furia Roja, joins the Citizens from Celta Vigo.

As confirmed by Manchester City, Nolito has put pen to paper of a four-year deal, though the exact amount of the transfer fee was not mentioned. Nonetheless, BBC Sport report that the move was sealed after triggering the Spaniard’s £13.8m release clause.

Man City’s new signing showered Guardiola with praise, telling the Citizens’ official website:

"It’s just about trying to play my normal game and let’s hope that I can help Manchester City to win games.

"I think that Pep Guardiola is one of the best managers in the world. He knows a lot about the game and he’s going to help me progress as a player and I’m sure he’ll get the best out of me."

Nolito had worked under Pep from 2009 to 2011, albeit most of his appearances came for the Barcelona B side.

After departing from Camp Nou, the now 29-year-old joined Benfica then Celta Vigo on a permanent deal, though there was a short loan spell with Granada in between.

Nolito made 103 appearances and scored 39 goals during his three seasons at the Balaidos, but will now arrive in England at the Etihad wearing the number 9 jersey.
