We analyse the players who have been impressive for their sides consistently at the Euro 2016, and how they could fit in our proposed best XI of the quarter-final.

With eight teams remaining in the Euro 2016, we take a look at the Best XI team of the quarter-finals. This squad consists of players who have been consistently impressive for their respective sides in the competition so far.

Goalkeeper

38-year-old legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon  starts between the posts for his excellent saves for the Azzurri despite his age. He has managed to stop big names in the competition so far such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Hazard, Alvaro Morata, Romelu Lukaku, Radja Nainggolan among others and that is why he deserves the number one spot.

Defenders

The four players to create a shield behind Buffon include the Italian duo of Matteo Darmian and Leonardo Bonucci, Jerome Boateng of Germany, Potugal’s Marcelo and France’s Patrice Evra.

Midfielders

At the heart of the midfield, Wales’ midfield wizard Aaron Ramsey starts alongside Paul Pogba of France. Belgian attacking midfielder Eden Hazard could be the best choice to supply the ball forward alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

Forwards

Antoine Griezmann of France has already found the back of the net thrice in this competition, same as Wales’ Gareth Bale.

It is only fair if the two are paired together in the haunt for goals by forming a lethal partnership. Here is how the final best XI squad of the quarter-finals looks:Euro 2016 best XI at the quarter-finals
