Sadio Mane has become Liverpool's third summer signing for the upcoming 2016/2017 campaign.

The Senegal striker will join Klopp's side with a five-year contract for £34 million from Southampton. However, his fee may continue to rise to £36 million, as he could become the Reds' most expensive signing, surpassing the £35 million paid in 2011 for Andy Carroll.ManeSadio-ManeSadio-ManeSadio-Mane

The 24-year-old forward joined Southampton from Salzburg in 2014 after agreeing to a £10 million deal. Since then, he has made 67 Premier League appearances, netting 21 goals for the Saints.

Here are some statistics from his 2015/2016 season with Southampton:

  • He has made 44 appearances with the Saints, netting 11 goals

  • Mane generated six assists and created 65 shots

  • The Senegal international received 27 offsides, 44 fouls, five yellow cards and two red cards during his last season at St Mary's Stadium

At first, Mane's transfer fee was £30 million, which would make him the third most expensive signing for Liverpool; however, his price tag has moved up to £34 million and has the potential to continue to rise. Depending on the forward's performance as a Red, his fee will most likely increase to as much as £38.5 million.

Sadio Mane holds the second spot for Liverpool's record signings. Andy Caroll, who signed back in 2011, tops the chart with £35 million. Christian Benteke comes in third place with a £32.5 million transfer fee. Following in fourth place is Roberto Firmino, who signed with the Reds in July of 2015 for £29 million. Lastly, Adam Lallana takes the fifth position with a deal worth £25 million from Southampton.
