Both Liverpool and Villarreal will be battling for a spot in the Europa League finals as they clash at Anfield on Thursday, May 5th. Here are some live TV listings & online streaming options for Liverpool vs. Villarreal.

Given that the first leg finished as a 1-0 result, both Liverpool and Villarreal are very much still in this Europa League semi-finals tie. However, Jurgen Klopp's men are at a slight disadvantage as they were unable to grab a vital away goal in Spain. Furthermore, the Reds will not only have to obviously score, but also to prevent the Yellow Submarine from finding the back of the net - something that, naturally will be easier said than done.

Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp's side will be coming into this match having suffered a disappointing defeat over the weekend in domestic action. The German tactician opted to rotate his squad with one eye on Thursday's big fixture, but it unfortunately backfired as Liverpool slumped to a 3-1 reversal against Swansea City.

Klopp opted to field players like Martin Skrtel and Daniel Sturridge for that match - the latter of whom has not featured regularly since the ex-Dortmund manager's arrival - and it will be very interesting to see who he selects for his starting XI for this tie against Villarreal, especially considering the injury problems the team is currently facing.

Although Emre Can is reportedly set to make his return, Divock Origi,  Jordan Henderson, Joe Gomez and Danny Ings are all still on the treatment table. In addition, key defender Mamadou Sakho has been suspended by UEFA after failing a blood test.

Despite being 1-0 down, Liverpool are very much still in this tie. In fact, in three out of their past five European semi-finals, the Reds have managed to get through after losing the first leg away from home. Furthermore, Thursday's hosts have not only won their past seven second-leg matches at home, but also have only conceded just once. However, in four out of their past five encounters with Spanish sides, Liverpool have failed to score - and naturally will have to amend this if they wish to make it to their first European final since the 2007 Champions League final.

Villarreal

Liverpool's upcoming opponents Villarreal arrive at Anfield having picked up a comfortable 2-0 win over Valencia in La Liga action this weekend. Like his tactical opponent, Marcelino also opted to rotate his squad for the team's domestic fixture but naturally enjoyed more success over the weekend. Adrian - the man who settled proceedings late between Liverpool and Villarreal in the first leg - also scored against Valencia, and the Yellow Submarine will be hoping to pick up an away goal in England.

Villarreal's away form, however, has not been impressive. They have conceded nine goals in six Europa away games, whilst keeping only one clean sheet away at Bayer Leverkusen. As such, Marcelino will be hoping that key defender Eric Bailly will be fully fit in time for this match, especially after he missed out on the weekend's game due to a groin injury sustained in the first leg's match.

However, here's a stat that may encourage Villarreal supporters a bit: 16 out of 27 Europa League sides with a 1-0 home leg advantage after the first leg have progressed to the next stage.
