The player from Togo will not perform during this semester after being stripped from his number by Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.

One of the most talented but complicated players in the Premier League is, without a doubt, Emmanuel Adebayor. The African striker was on the verge of finally leaving Tottenham Hotspur to join West Ham before the transfer deadline, but his reasons to deny a deal may be shocking to some.

Adebayor's summer was full of rumors, which included a deal with Aston Villa. After he had undergone the physical tests and even posing with his new shirt, the striker turned down any deal stating that he needed "a sign from God" to sign with The Villains. That sign didn't come, and Adebayor caused the deal to flop.

Today, the African player came close to signing another deal, but he was not fully committed to that idea. First, he demanded Tottenham to pay his full contract (around 5 million pounds) before he signed any deal with another team, which the club refused to do. Finally, the striker seemed keen to pen an on-loan deal with West Ham, but later he decided against it, even letting down The Hammers, who were already waiting for him to undergo the medical examinations.

Some fans were not happy with the player's decision.
