The Brazlilan player was on loan with Porto this past season. He has already played in 27 games for Real Madrid.

After spending this past season on loan with Porto, Casemiro has returned to Madrid and it seems that he will be stuck with Real Madrid for a while. The Spanish club has extended his contract until 2021 after he signed with the club in 2013.

The announcement was made Twitter-official

The Brazilian midfielder played a very important role with the Portuguese club this past season. He played in 41 games and scored four goals as a defensive midfielder. His most impressive performances were in the Champions League games. He played in eight of them until Bayern knocked them out in the quarter-finals.

Carlo Ancelotti had used Casemiro in 27 games where he only provided one assist. In the game against Betis, Rafa Benitez used him for only 25 minutes and he was in charge of assisting Bale in his second goal of the night. It seems like this can be the continuation of a great Portuguese adventure.

He recognized the role that Porto has played in his career

Porto got in line to sign Casemiro as soon as the season ended, but Benitez proved to be a fan of the former Sao Paolo player and decided to keep him in Madrid's roster. For the Brazilian player, one year in Portugal was enough. He now wants to triumph with the club that brought him from Brazil to Europe.

"I'm living another dream and it feels like I've returned home. I was gone for a year but I was always thinking about being at Real Madrid. I'm really excited about triumphing here," the 23-year old said.
