The fourth high-profile signing for Manchester City this summer has a name and it goes by Kevin de Bruyne. The Belgian midfielder belongs to the Citizens for the next six years as he signed a £55m deal this Sunday.
This makes De Bruyne the second most expensive signing in the history of the Premier League. Only Angel di Maria is above him with a transfer that cost Manchester United £59.7m on a five-year deal but in reality the Argentinian player only lasted one season before he decided to sign with Paris Saint-Germain.

Manuel Pellegrini is excited to have De Bruyne come in and help his team. The Chilean manager has had a busy summer signing Raheem Sterling, Fabian Delph and Nicolas Otamendi. The fact that the 24-year old player comes into the club is something that can only help the Citizens in the eyes of the coach.

"We like to play attacking, attractive football. Bringing in a player like this will only aid us. Pellegrini said. "He has all of the mental, physical, tactical and technical attributes required to fit straight in."
Manchester City has assigned number 17 to their new player. The young attacking midfielder already has experience in the Premier League with Chelsea. With the club from Old Trafford he played three games. De Bruyne is looking forward to joining a club with big chances for a title.

De Bruyne knows there will be a lot of competition to find a spot in the starting XI. After being a star with Wolfsburg he feels ready to face a new challenge against some big stars that are also part of the same roster. The Citizens are currently on top of the Premier League standings after four games with 12 points.
