The Catalan boss is living perhaps his toughest hours while coaching Bayern Munich, due to the constant criticism of his work after their Super Cup loss against Wolfsburg.

Pep Guardiola is surely not enjoying the last couple of days as Bayern Munich's coach, since he has been heavily criticized by a number of German journalists after his team lost the DFL Super Cup against Wolfsburg. Furthermore, Pep's work with Die Roten was put under the microscope by one of the team's legends, none other than former midfielder Lothar Matthäus.

According to a number of sources, Guardiola's job needs to be constantly reviewed, since some players have been reported to be "annoyed" by the coach's attitude towards them. In fact, last Saturday's substitutions during the game against Wolfsburg did not go down well with some players such as Phillip Lahm or Thomas Müller, who even approached the bench to have a word with Guardiola, asking him to cut them some slack, considering their coming off the first games of pre-season.

"Mourinho is better than Guardiola": Lothar Matthäus

Guardiola's term as Bayern Munich coach added another critic to its collection, when Lothar Matthäus referred to the Spanish boss' work is not liked by his players, stating that José Mourinho is the best coach in the business. In fact, the midfielder that played in five different World Cups suggested that the team's board should start looking for the Spaniard's replacement, since he believes Pep does not want to continue with the team.

"Pep is not the best coach in the world, I prefer Mourinho. He is the No.1, because Mourinho is more transparent and more direct than Guardiola. I've been told that from the players he has coached: He tells you everything to your face," he told during an interview.

Matthäus went further and mentioned those coaches he believes would be suitable to succeed Guardiola as the team's manager, being coherent with the thought about Pep's departure when the 2015-2016 season ends.

"I have a German favourite to succeed him: Klopp. There are two foreign candidates: Mourinho, but he will not leave Chelsea, and Carlo Ancelotti. I have a lot of respect for Guardiola, he has won so much, but he must be clearer. Why don't you just sign a deal? Speak clearly!" the legendary midfielder demanded.
