There are five players from Chile and three from Argentina. Messi had refused Copa America's best player prize.

Lionel Messi, Claudio Bravo and Javier Mascherano are the three players from Barcelona that were elected as part of the best 11 players in the Copa America 2015. The dream team of the South American tournament was made up by five players from Chile, three from Argentina, two from Peru and one from Colombia.

The winner of the Golden Glove, Claudio Bravo was tied with Sergio Romero before the final, but he ran with better luck in the penalty kicks and stopped one while Gonzalo Higuain sent his shot way over the crossbar. Bravo received four goals in this competition before the final went to penalty kicks.

The defensive unit in this all-star team was made up by Nicolas Otamendi (ARG), Gary Medel (CHI) and Javier Murillo (COL).Murillo was part of the best defense of the tournament and only allowed one goal before they were knocked out in penalties by Argentina. None of them were among the 20 players with the most fouls.

Christian Cueva (PER), Marcelo Diaz (CHI), Javier Mascherano (ARG) and Arturo Vidal (CHI) were the four midfielders included in this lineup. Vidal had a solid Copa America despite almost being suspended after being involved in an accident after the game with Mexico. He even scored one of the penalties in the final.

Up front, Lionel Messi (ARG), Paolo Guerrero (PER) and Eduardo Vargas (CHI) make the offensive trio. Messi was elected as the best player of the tournament as he had three assists and one goal. La Pulga refused to receive the award so no one else was elected to take his place. Vargas and Guerrero were tied with four goals as the tournament's leading scorers. Jorge Sampaoli was elected as the best coach of the competition.

The Copa America will return next year with a special edition due to the 100-year anniversary of it creation. It will be played in the United States for the first time and Brazil will host it in 2019. La Canarinha was supposed to be the organizer this year, but delegated the responsibility to La Roja as they were already full with the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
