After losing the Copa America final to Chile, one young Messi fan seized the opportunity to snap a selfie with the Argentine. The result was depressing.

After Argentina’s 2015 Copa America final loss to Chile on Saturday, star striker Lionel Messi was in no mood to take selfies with fans or put on a smile after the disappointing defeat.

However, when a young ball boy ran towards the Barcelona ace, the 28-year-old had no heart to turn away the young admirer, and ended up yielding and taking a selfie.

The result was a very depressing photo, however. Although only his back side was visible, the sadness of losing their Copa America final to Chile, and a shot at winning his first major trophy for his national side, was clearly visible. WATCH.

La Albiceleste, after an impressive 6-1 thrashing of Paraguay in the semi-final round, were unable to break down the host nation in the ultimate game, as they eventually lost the tie 4-1 on penalties.

La Pulga, invisible and below par for most of the game, converted his side’s only spot kick, as misses from Gonzalo Higuain and Ever Banega saw La Roja scoop up the title.

This latest heartbreak for the four-time Ballon d’Or winner came a year after he saw his Argentine side lose the World Cup final 1-0 to Germany on extra time.
