Petr Cech was with Chelsea since 2004. Negotiations with Vidal are 90% completed and could sign after the end of Copa America.

Chelsea's legendary goalkeeper will continue in London but now on the other side of the English capital. Petr Cech has become the newest Gunner after signing a long-term contract with Arsenal for an undisclosed fee. He leaves a club with which he played over 400 games in 11 years. At the age of 33, he is joining his sixth club.

Cech was an important player in helping Chelsea win the 2011 Champions League. In his time with the reigning Premier League champions, he became a hero and icon as a goalkeeper for The Blues. After the strong bond he created with the fans, he took some time to write a letter to his beloved Chelsea fans.

Cech wrote this letter to thank Chelsea fans for their support

The goalkeeper was thankful for the support from his former club to let him go after all the time spent at Stamford Bridge. He personally thanked the owner of the club, Roman Abramovich and his agent for allowing him to continue his career somewhere else. Cech spent most of last season on the bench watching Thibaout Courtois shine under the posts for Chelsea.

Chelsea was thankful for everything Cech did for their team

Just as he was sad to leave a club which he had been a part of for such a long time, the goalkeeper from Czech Republic has shown excitement to join his new team. He has already cleared the medical exams and is looking forward to competing with David Ospina and company to become the starter of Arsenal next season.

The moment in history when Cech became a Gunner

“I’m really excited about joining Arsenal Football Club and can't wait to join up for pre-season. I have the same commitment to football, the same motivation and the same hunger for success as I had at the beginning of my career, and I love the challenges brought by the top quality players you face while playing in the Premier League," Cech said to Arsenal's website.

The next few days could also bring Arturo Vidal closer to signing with Arsenal. A team that is starting to spend the big bucks after their new stadium was completed. Alexis Sanchez proved to be a good signing this past season and now in case Vidal joins the team, the Gunners could have serious EPL title possibilities. The Gunners have reportedly offered Vidal a £21 million deal for him to leave Juventus.
