What a nightmare end of a season it will be for Borussia Dortmund. The Bundesliga giants, who look most definitely to miss out on Champions League football when this campaign wraps up, will see their lovable manager Jurgen Klopp depart, having announced he will leave the club this summer.
And things look set to get worse as reports suggest one of Dortmund’s star players could follow suit and also exit Signal Iduna Park. The cherry on top of the ice cream is that the player could land in Bayern Munich.
And no, we are not talking about Marco Reus.
According to German tabloid BILD (per the Daily Express), Ilkay Gundogan has landed on the radar of the Bavarians, as the 24-year-old midfielder grows closer to a move away from die Schwarzgelben.
Only one year remains on his contract with Dortmund, with an extension nowhere near agreement, meaning the club will either have to cash in on him this summer, or risk losing him for free when his deal runs out, in 2016.

If he secures a move to the Allianz Arena, Gundogan will join former team-mates Mario Gotze and Robert Lewandowski. However, Guardiola’s side will face competition for the German midfielder’s services from Manchester United.
The English Premier League giants are believed to be favorites to land Gundogan, but Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc revealed last week that the Red Devils are yet to make a move for the former Nurnberg man.
"There is no signature, no contract, no offer, no request and not even contact,” said Zorc.
"The last time I talked to Manchester United was in November 2014 and that was about a different topic."
The report on Bild even mentioned north London side Arsenal as a possible suitor for Gundogan, meaning we are all in for an exciting three-way tug-of-war for the Mannschaft international.
Worth noting that Arsenal once again mentioned by Bild for Gundogan, they are very much in the game according to German reports.
